The Flight Experiences

I was joyous, looking forward to the Singapore Flyer. I went to look up information related to the flyer. It was located at Marina Bay; it sits astride a three-storey Retail Terminal with an exciting array of retail and F&B choices. A central atrium opens out to a lush tropical rainforest, while an open-air theatre hosts live performances. The 210-metre long waterfront dining promenade will be adding to the buzz of sights, sounds and activities. It sounded so breath-taking that it thrilled me the thought of it.

The three-storey mall was constructed around the Singapore Flyer .I could hardly see the shop houses were opened, most probably due to the timing we went there which was too early. Artificial trees were planted around the mid of the basement floor to decorate the place, which in turns make the place looks more” greener”. There was a place for security check before entering the capsule to ensure no dangerous weapons were bought aboard. I managed to board the Singapore Flyer finally. It was the moment when the wheel turned to the mid-ways. I stared in wonderment. I could hardly believe, I managed to capture the view of Singapore from bird’s eye view.

The moment when I reach aboard the capsule of Singapore Flyer, I could felt the inertia of the capsule .In this case, physics was applied as I walked in the opposite direction of the capsule .The strong current of force opposed me when going in. When I looked around, I could see the big diameter of the wheel which could be calculated. The time taken for one spin to complete could also be tabulated. The superb engineering feat of this magnificent structure would have required plenty of time and manpower to build it. My expectations were met as it was a suitable outdoor classroom for conducting lesson which related to a lot of subjects.

During the ride in the capsule, some of the students were supposed to take a good watch at timing of the stopwatch which is used to time the time needed for one turn. Everyone started to become mischievous and put their worksheet and stopwatch away. Then, one by one rush to the corners and took out either their cell phones or their digital cameras and start snapping photos. Even the teacher-in-charge also took photo of herself and the scenario.

At the end, I felt the trip was exhilarating. Instead of using old classroom for teaching, places of interest could also be use for teaching purposes. The outdoor classroom would provide student more knowledge that is probably beyond the capability of teacher to teach. There is no doubt that I would recommend it to others.
