Reality television, dominating the tube right now, is about the real antics of real people which feature people getting insulted. They are often cheap to produce. It is due to we are voyeurs They erase the boundaries between the public and the private. The television keeps up with society. It's real behavior in real environments. such shows will ultimately be dwarfed by the long-term damage. They are going to be the network that humiliates people if they keep showing programmes like this. One of the great ironies about these programmes is that they are manifestly unreal. They call it unscripted drama which is more like sports. It be a new way to tell a story but as time goes on, they eventually go completely over the top, irritates both viewers and advertisers. Reality shows may hold half of America's top ten rankings, but the three highest-rated programmes are one nine-year-old sitcom and two classic dramas.
